Biography

With over 35 years of experience in academics and research, Preeti is the recipient of the, “Excellence in Teaching Innovation” award by Delhi University. Amongst other noteworthy milestones in her career –she is on Board of Studies of Indira Gandhi Delhi Technological University; was Appointed Reviewer of Course on “Marketing Management” under the e-PG Pathshala Project of MHRD, Government of India and has chaired sessions at International and National seminars and conferences. She was a Member of the Academic Advisory Committee at the A.E.P.C. (Apparel Export Promotion Council) Institute and also the Assessment Committee constituted by Govt. of NCT Delhi for examining compliance of norms prescribed by it for various institutes. Her research work includes “Shramdaan for Skilling India” and “Health insurance scheme for domestic workers: public private partnership,” under the Innovation Project Scheme of Delhi University; “Targeted Public Distribution System” under the UGC; “Gainfully Employed Women in Urban Unorganised Sector", for Delhi Commission for Women. Some of her path breaking studies include “Spousal Influence in Purchase Decisions”, “Perception and Usage of Social Networking Sites”, “Consumer Perception of Fairness Creams for Men”, “Perception and Usage of Mobile Phones”, to name a few. She has also developed & conducted the National Workshop on Consumer Protection Act, for Ministry of Food & Civil Supplies, Government of India and Training Programmes for Officers of Department of Food & Civil Supplies, Delhi Administration. Adding to her credentials is her experience in teaching Doctorate and Postgraduate Courses at National Institute of Fashion Technology, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University; Department of Commerce, Delhi University and Department of Business Economics, Delhi University. She is a sought after Project guide/mentor for projects at the doctorate, post graduate and undergraduate level. Currently she is Coordinator of the IQAC, Internal complaints committee and Gender champions Program. She is also a member Grievance Redressal Committee, disciplinary committee, anti ragging committee and Teacher in charge of CONVERGENCE and CII YI chapter of the college. With a passion for community service she is Life Member of FICCI Ladies Organisation and Experiment in International Living,and member of Delhi Commonwealth Women’s Association, YWCA, Women’s Federation for World Peace and FINCUN (Forum of Indian NGOs for Cooperation with United Nations). She has travelled across the globe which makes all her insights global yet locally relevant - some of the countries she has been a frequent flier to include - Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Netherlands, Slovak Republic, U.S.A., U.K., France, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Netherland, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, South Africa, Nepal, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Vietnam.
